7 Simple Ways To Start Adding Flaxseed To Your Recipes

1. Smoothies

Add 2 Tbsp to your favorite smoothie for a nutritional boost

2. Baking

Add up to 1/2 cup of flax to any baking recipe (waffles, crepes, pancakes, muffins, breads)

3. Oatmeal

Add 2 Tbsp to your morning bowl of oatmeal or overnight oats

4. Energy Bites

Mix oats with milled flaxseed, nut butter and honey or maple syrup then roll into balls for an easy no bake snack

5. Burgers

Milled flaxseed acts as a binder when mixed with wet ingredients. Use it in your favorite burger patty to hold the mixture together.

6. Egg Substitute

Combine 1 Tbsp flaxseed meal with 3 Tbsp water to make one flax egg. Use it as a vegan binding agent in baking, burgers, breaded recipes.

7. Sauces, Dips, Spreads

Add to pesto, hummus and tomato sauce. It's a natural thickener. Forget the cornstarch! Mix with natural nut and seed butters to cut down on the need to stir.

A favorite of mine is Manitoba Milling Co. Learn more about the benefits of fiber and flaxseed.

Disclosure: I have received samples of Manitoba Milling Co flaxseed as part of a partnership program, however I would never recommend a product that I wouldn't personally use.
